The 2018 Melbourne Cup tips of Mark Shean are here!
Shean has analysed all 24 horses in the Melbourne Cup field and he is confident that we are set to have yet another international winner of our most famous race.
Who does The Redern Express expect to triumph in the 2018 Melbourne Cup?
1st – Magic Circle
Magic Circle has changed stables to Iain Williams for his past two starts and hasn’t he jumped out of the ground.
He has won by six lengths on both occasions, one of them over 3700 metres and another over 3200 metres.
He has a very good record at the two miles and a bit of sting out of the track, if it rains at Flemington on Tuesday, is no concern whatsoever and he looks to be in great form.
2nd – Muntahaa
Muntahaa won the Ebor Handicap at his last start.
He covered ground in the early stages before getting a trail three wide and he found some room halfway up the straight.
I liked the way that he strolled away to win with the big weight and he looks to be in great form going into the race as well.
3rd – Yucatan
What a win at Caulfield it was!
He sat three or four deep, circled the field, strolled away and then won easing down.
The two horses that he beat went on to quinella the Lexus Stakes.
The blinkers have gone on at his past two starts, midway through the year he has some poor and he ran last on two occasions, but he certainly looks to be on the improve.
4th – Youngstar
The Caulfield Cup was not run to suit Youngstar.
It was a walking race, they only sprinted in the last 600 metres, and she had no hope the way that the race was run.
She has a light weight and she will be running along strongly at the finish.
